Background
Anjiba Primary School was established in 2008. Until today, it only had five classrooms that are truly adequate, of which one is used as an office and library.
The school is home to 961 students, grades 1 to 8 and classes are conducted in two shifts.
Our Method
We prioritize community engagement in our school-building projects, visiting a minimum of three to four towns and schools annually. Through meetings with school administrators and community members, we carefully select project sites based on need, accessibility, and the community's willingness to participate. By fostering local involvement, we aim to empower communities and ensure the sustainability of our projects
Outcome
The newly constructed building at Anjiba Primary School features eight classrooms, providing a much-needed upgrade for both educators and students. Due to the pandemic, shortage of cement within the country and many other hurdles, this project took longer than usual but was successfully inaugurated on September 2020.
These additional classrooms at Anjiba will be able to accommodate 400 students a day, 200 per shift.
To commemorate the inauguration of the new building, our team distributed school supplies to all the students at Anjiba Primary School surrounded by parents and elders of the community.
