Background
Kebele 19 Primary School, established in 1989, has remained largely unchanged since its construction, save for a few makeshift classrooms added over the years. Despite serving over 1,600 students from kindergarten to eighth grade, the school has sorely lacked basic maintenance.
Our Method
We prioritize community engagement in our school-building projects, visiting a minimum of three to four towns and schools annually. Through meetings with school administrators and community members, we carefully select project sites based on need, accessibility, and the community's willingness to participate. By fostering local involvement, we aim to empower communities and ensure the sustainability of our projects
Outcome
The newly constructed building at Kebele 19 Primary School features eight classrooms, a valuable addition to the school’s capacity. As per our previous projects, we expect these eight classrooms to serve 800 students per day.
